Local businessman and former State Senator Steve Ogden attended the April 21 regular meeting of the Bryan ISD Board of Trustees, where he shared the touching story of success his adopted son experienced while attending Bryan schools.
Ogden's son, now 18, attended Bryan High and ultimately transferred to MC Harris, the district's alternative high school for over-aged and under-credited students. Though facing a fair amount of work in order to graduate, Ogden's son was inspired to throw himself into the task and complete everything he needed for graduation in just eight days.
Ogden's show of support for the district was evident in both his heartfelt words and the generous $10,000 check he presented for the Bryan ISD Education Foundation.
Bryan ISD thanks Sen. Ogden his generosity, support and friendship.
