Ms. Shelton grew up in the Austin area. She attended Lake Travis ISD schools and graduated with a BA in History from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her MA in American History from Gettysburg College.
Ms. Shelton started her teaching career at Bryan High in 2004 before moving overseas to teach English as a Second Language in Taipei, Taiwan. She came home to the states in 2009 and taught at Snook Secondary for 10 years. She returned to Bryan ISD in 2019.
